I want to use the correct spellings for the flowers that I photograph. I have seen two spellings for this flower. I used one of the links you provided to find "Alstroemeria" as the correct spelling, but have yet to find a reason why it's being spelled differently by so many. Thank you, Ann
It is named after the Swedish botanist Claus von Alströmer; in scientific names, ö is correctly rendered as oe, but some people probably fail to notice this and simply spell it wrongly.
