Would appreciate help with identifying these columnar trees and hedge. 2 photos attached. They appear to be pruned to shape but don't know what they are. Many thanks
Clear pics to show the leaves would be extremely helpful. Carpinus betulus ...common name Hornbeam is a tree that can be kept neatly trimmed ...eg hedges/shaped specimens Please see link below..pics at end show what can be done by way of pruning. https://www.architecturalplants.com/product/carpinus-betulus/ https://www.google.com/search?sca_e...HZW2EewQtKgLegQIERAB&biw=1280&bih=559&dpr=1.5 https://www.google.com/search?sca_e...HZjVB-EQtKgLegQIERAB&biw=1280&bih=559&dpr=1.5
Without any background knowledge of their location and climate it is pretty hard to identify those pruned to shape trees. If the photo is taken in Canada, then this most likely isn't an Indian laurel (which was my first suspicion Ficus Indian Laurel Tree for Sale | Moon Valley Nursery). Bay laurel and cherry laurel (cherry laurel topiary - Google Search) can probably be excluded too. A hawthorn maybe?
If these trees keep their leaves in winter then ignore my suggestion of Carpinus betulus as it is deciduous.
