Too funny! I don't know that it applies outside of Tasmania, though...

Sure it does. For wallabies, substitute college students on High Street (I kid you not) after the OSU-Michigan game.

I suppose that football fans would have a similar effect, down here.

Makes me wonder how they are getting in. Those paddocks are really well fenced. Years ago along one of our dirt roads there was a glorious crop of the so called weed. They were there one week and woosh bulldozed the next. I had them for years coming up in my jungle. I got the seed from an elderly gardner. As far as I know they were grown on a regular basis many years ago for their glorious flowers.

HaHa Liz, I guess a Wallaby thats an addict will do anything to get his next fix! Maybe they get to jump a bit higher no??

Eric thats as funny as a joke a friend sent me last week about a Koala and a Lizard sat up in a Gum tree smoking pot, after a while the Lizard said to his mate the Koala, I'm thirsty I need to got to the river for a drink.

"Soright" said the Koala "I'll see you later lizzie" S of goes the Lizard to the waters edge where he meets a crocadile, and the croc seeing that the Lizard is stoned asks him what he's been up to? "Oh I've jusht bin doing a liccle pot with my frien koala!" he replies.

The croc says "what and he's in the same state as you?"

"Yesh" replied lizzie. "This I've gotta see a stoned Koala" Said the croc and of he went to find the Koala. When the Koala see the croc coming along he exclaims:

"Strueth Lizzie! How much water did you drink?"

Well it made me laugh anyway.

Great Britain is renowned for crop circles and rumour has it that they also indulge in Fish and chips.
I was surmising that there may be a connection there as there was one with the WallYs.

Sorry missed that cause I in Oz. We do have fish and chips here but not the soggy kind I encountered in UK. You may well be right. What I can't work out is where the so called Humans (aliens) that do these circles get in to start them. Surly one would see the entrance point from the air. I bet they worked out where the Wallaby got in. I don't think it's aliens but how are some of these intricate patterns made????

The photos in the following were really interesting

I could only see the Google Earth ones Liz, some incredible designs. I wonder how they do those intricate ones? I wouldnt know where to start from ground level to get all the symetry right.

Nath they were just some front covers of library books I remember coming out and I had them looked up on a pass word. So have removed them. They seem to be on the google page anyway.

With a lot of the ones at that link, you can see all too easily where they went in & out! The better ones, they walk in along the tracks left by the farmer's tractor, or take great care not to flatten any stems on the way in, so it isn't so obvious.

    And in other animal-inebriate news...
Read this in my local Other Paper, July 9, 2009, in Chuck Shepherd's "News of the Weird" column:

"Heyyyy, Like 'Arf-Arf', Man": Nestor Waddell had to rush his 11-year-old Labrador mix, Jack, to the vet in May when he started acting strange during a walk, which had taken him into some bushes. The vet concluded that Jack had discovered and devoured some dry, harvested marijuana. According to Waddell, "(Jack's) eyes were kind of glossed over...When he was trying to walk, he was looking at his paw, and then looking at the ground and then trying to get his paw to reach the ground, but was unsuccessful."
    Dude...where's my paw?

So the vet gave him a shot for his paw.

The dog is now looking for the guy that shot his paw!

I told you HBL that this was worth a read. Whoever heard of Wallabies being coke addicts, they'll be checking into rehab and queing up for their methadone substitute next!!
