This ‘Whitcomb’ is in a private garden, but visible from 2nd Street, just off Ocean Beach Esplanade. Blooming early, just like the rest of them.
‘Whitcomb’ blooming now in Langdale. With that north exposure, I don’t think this tree sees much sunlight. Maybe before I wake up.

I’ve only noticed one ‘Okame’ on the entire Sunshine Coast in 8 years. Located at 6420 Gale Ave North, near the B & B. It’s in full bloom now.

Little Twist (or as we call them, the twisted sisters) at Langdale this cold, stormy March 2026 day. Outside temp around 3C. I wonder why one of four blooms ahead of other three also - staff are curious if anything should be done about lichen/moss on the trees. If yes, what? Etc.
The tree at Sunnycrest Mall, 900 Gibsons Way around North parking and Super Valu loading dock. I’ve also included two pix of official Canada Post stamps available at the nearby London Drugs Post Office desk (and at many other Canada Post offices)
Same reason some kids, even in the same family, get wisdom teeth before other kids - living things develop at different rates. Thanks for posting the ‘Pandora’ on Harmony Lane, Georgia Strait. You inspired me to take a look for myself. Very, very cold and wet down there today. Notice the separation between the petals - one of the ways I can make sure it’s ‘Pandora’.

They really are lovely I know where a Kanzan is locally Gibsons where are examples of Somei-yoshino? There are couple of young ‘Accolade’ on Franklin Road west of Cochrane. Blossoms are more impressive than the trees.
‘Beni-shidare’ beginning to blossom in Roberts Creek. Visible from Lower Road, east of Agnes. Complete with hanging hammock chair.
