I don't have any hope of identifying this Filipendula in Stanley Park, along the bike path outside the Greig Rhododendron Garden. I was interested in it (and recognized it!) because I have just acquired a Filipendula 'Red Umbrellas' for my balcony, just a place holder until I get what I really want for this dark but protected corner of my balcony, where I want something tall but not dense. This cultivar has great leaves. There are better photos at Filipendula ‘Red Umbrellas’ | Viridis - you can select the language on that page. It notes that this is likely a cross between F. multijuga and F. palmata.
Thanks, Acerholic. I don't think it's F. rubra, which Filipendula rubra - Plant Finder says has "Deeply cut, compound-pinnate, bright green leaves have 7-9 lance-shaped leaflets each". Photos also show stems that are quite a bit more red than these, which would appeal to me. But several of the species and cultivars have at least one photo that looks exactly like this to me.
