I'm not sure how many magnolias I have here. I think these are both the same, but I don't have a matching set of flowers and fruit. I'd like to know what to call it. These are street trees in Vancouver's West End. They're deciduous. This tree, on Haro west of Denman, has flowers that I described as being about 8 inches in diameter. It has no fruits now. The flower photos are from 2008; the others are from today. This tree is on Haro at Cardero. I think it was planted at the same time as the first one, and I think that was in 2007 but it could have been the year before. I think I remember the flowers being similar. So I always thought they were the same. This one has some fruits.
This was answered right away, back when it was posted. I'm just completing the picture. Here are the flowers from the same 'Caerhays Belle' tree posted in the first posting (second set of photos), on Haro at Cardero.
"Complete" is relative. Though I completed the picture for this Magnolia 'Caerhays Belle' in the last posting, that was eight years ago. Now it's even more complete - definitely a show stopper, in spite of some obvious frost damage on the petals.
Not a question any more, just current photos of the Magnolia 'Caerhays Belle', same individual, in bloom now. I see it's only a week earlier in blooming than when I posted it four years ago and when it was posted as a youngster in 2008.
