Thanks Ron. I have a trickier one that looks to be in decline. Smallish sparse tree being 5 metres tall. the myriad of small cones makes the tree quite attractive Although i suspect the quantity of cones demonstrate that the plant is playing its swan song sorry I haven’t better photo’s at present
Second one looks like Pinus thunbergii (Japanese Black Pine); it tends to be a very prolific cone-producer, so isn't necessarily on its last legs, though it doesn't look really happy either. The short, dense needles on your Scots Pine make it look like one of the more southerly origins, perhaps from southern Spain (sometimes treated as a distinct variety Pinus sylvestris var. nevadensis).
