This sedge I believe is beaked. Property on which it is growing is on a ridge directly above Shenandoah river and all its creeks and tributaries. In other words could be usually associated with wet areas but be growing on my property which is a bit drier because critters delivered seeds. I think it is beaked..see pic. So I’m assuming most likely in Lupulinae section. So most likely C. lupulina but perigynia don’t look to be the correct shape. Seeds are hard to see…blurry…I don’t have a good camera but they have ridges, not knobs so I think this leans towards C. lupulina? Editing because I misspelled perigynia or is it perigynium? Maybe -um singular, -a plural?!
