I planted them in a plastic container with about an inch and a half of soil (soil was mostly cactus mix with some added perlite). I moisted the soil and covered the container with syran wrap. It has been a few weeks now and I haven&#039;t seen any activity. The seeds aren&#039;t very deep at all, they were just lightly covered with soil, is there anything I did wrong and could improve upon next time?]]></content:encoded>

Next spring I&#039;d like to grow in my garden the seeds of giant (supermarket) raspberries (King, aka Madonna, or close).<br />
I&#039;ve started the process putting the seeds in a solution of water, sugar and bread yeast (as I do for tomatoes). After drying, they&#039;ll likely spend the winter in my freezer.<br />
I&#039;m guessing that b/4 spring planting I&#039;ll want to scarify the seed cases (maybe stir them in a pot of sharp sand?).<br />

Noob here for Staghorns. I took a flat plastic container and boiled some water and placed a couple of old bricks  and set them in the water.  Then I scraped some spores off of a cutting I had and spread them over the bricks and placed the top on and placed them in a shaded warm area.  I left them alone for a couple of months and went to look at them a week or so ago. Viola!  there was GREEN on the spores! It is still very small and I am watching it closely. Given that Spruce seeds need a stratification process (and I forgot to collect seeds this fall) I have been collecting the seeds from cones that have fallen and spent the winter below the tree. Several months ago I asked Steve Lucas (Photopro) about growing Staghorn ferns &quot;in the round&quot; ie:  Where the plant grows not only out the top but also from the sides and the bottom of a wire planter lined with coconut husk.  He said he had one growing that way that was HUGE and perfectly happy.<br />

I still haven&#039;t done that method of planting with my Staghorn but some time before that I did repot a CEROPEGIA woodii -...<br />
