      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Four big old <i>Acer freemanii</i> or<i> A.  saccharinum </i>were cut down on my street. The stump diameters of all of them were close to one metre.  The one a block away has a fungus I have not seen before.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I took this picture about 100 km North of the NWT Alb border in 2015 on Aug 21. I thought it was perhaps Psilocybe semilanceata but the cap itself seemed more robust. Could it be Psilocybe fimetaria?<br />
<br />
There had been tones of rain a week earlier.<br />
Although it does not show well in the picture the rings were very dark purple and there were hints of pale blue on the cap and the pellicle was still a little stretchy<br />
Honestly I did not think I would find any of psilocybe mushrooms up that far but...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I think this was an ornamental cherry tree, going by what is on the city&#039;s tree database, though they may have removed this tree from the list; the roots look ok for that ID. So the trunk/roots would have been <i>Prunus avium</i>. There are two or tree different mushrooms here. I didn&#039;t measure them, but the main crop seemed to reach around 8 or 9 cm in diameter.<br />
