Hey, I am based in South Australia and about a year ago I purchased a Monkey Puzzle from a nursery in my town, a larger one but one that also often got unusual things (Also purchased a Xanthorrhoea from them for example.) When I purchased it, it already had browning, mostly on the lower branches which I chalked up to a rougher period with its prior owner, or during its extended time at the Nursery. It was also showing signs of continual growth.
Over the last year it has had the browning...
We are looking for some experienced advice. Over the last 6 months our monkey puzzle has had white sap seeping out of it and 3 branches now turning brown.
I can't see any obvious reasons myself but would appreciate anyone who could look over photos and perhaps help with advice.
It has been in a large pot growing well for a few years now.

I have a female monkey puzzle that has been producing cones for about five years. The nearest male that I am aware of is about 4 kms away. Four years ago I got some cones from it and hung them in my cedar hedge hoping they would be pollinated, but no luck.
Last fall and this spring I found 3 seeds on the ground so I thought I would try again. I have several male cones. The lowest female cone is about twenty feet high. I have tried to get the male cones up to them but haven't found an...

Hello,

I'm new to this forum and I must admit...a bit lost too.
I'd like to buy a monkey tree (seeds, roots or a small plant), but I can't find a nursery selling them in Canada. I found a place in Oregon but they don't ship to Canada anymore due to federal regulations.

Does anybody know nurseries in Canada that dispatch these trees within Canada?
Many thanks

Hello, I have a monkey puzzle tree over twenty years old. It is fine but only six feet high. The lowest branches insist on doing all the groth and now I cannot access around and beyond the tree. I need to cut these green and healthy but long lowest brances back (but not off). I will be gone from this Earth before they turn brown and fall off. I cannot find any advice as to whether the tree will survive but I may have to chance it as it is blocking the back of my small garden in the Midlands...

Is my monkey puzzel tree toast?
The monkey puzzel tree in the photo is about 25yr old. It was knee high when I bought it. I live just north of Houston, TX. We had 5 days of below freezing temperatures, but nothing below 10°F. The tree still has some green branches but has mostly turned brown.
any chance the tree will recover?
Thanks!
