Creating Memories to Promote Organic Produce
David ‘Mas’ Masumoto is a writer and organic peach farmer in central California who creates memories. He links these memories of places, friends, and family to people's experiences of the flavours and aromas of fresh organic produce. And, he feels, these shared experiences and memories are a valuable tool in promoting small farms.
Mr. Masumoto recently presented a keynote address at a conference hosted by the Ecological Farming Association. In the presentation, he explained his concept of how the delicious flavours of organic produce can cause people to recall cherished childhood memories. These memories enrich lives and help people connect to nature and their families and communities. Farmers can help people create these memories by producing the richly flavourful crops that inspire such recollection.

Want to talk about this weblog entry? As of August 22, 2006, all new entries and most older entries are cross-posted to the UBC Botanical Garden Discussion Forums for discussion (you might need to use the search function to find the thread you are looking for).
This is an effort to reduce the amount of time spent dealing with spam (the forums are very good at stopping spam, the weblog commenting system is not so good).
Older entries already containing comments remain open for discussion.
