Assistant Professor in Plant Ecology

The Department of Biology, University of Saskatchewan, invites
applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor
level in the area of Plant Ecology, commencing July 1, 2006.
Preference will be given to candidates with a broad knowledge in
ecology of plant communities and plant taxonomy. The candidate will
develop a vigorous, quantitative research program focusing on
community and ecological processes at multiple scales for northern
ecosystems. Applicants should have relevant Ph.D. and post-doctoral
experience. The successful candidate will participate in the
undergraduate and graduate teaching programs of the Department, with
specific responsibility in botany and community ecology, including
experimental methods that employ multivariate statistics.

Botanical Garden Indoor Plant Sale

UBC Botanical Garden hosts its 28th Annual Indoor Plant Sale Thursday and Friday September 15 and 16. Always a popular event with plant enthusiasts and students, the sale is a great way to decorate a dorm room or office on a budget. Plants will be sold from 11am to 6pm near the entrance of the garden. Come early for the best selection!

A variety of indoor plants will be available for home, dorm or office: orchids, hibiscus and many other exotic flowering plants; a beautiful assortment of foliage plants; herbs; hanging baskets; cacti and succulents. Dried flowers collected from the garden will also be available, a good choice for those whose thumb is not so green.

UBC Botanical Garden is located at 6804 SW Marine Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia.
