GHN Towers Memorial Lecture
NHP Research Society Honours the Late Dr. Neil Towers
Vancouver – The Natural Health Products Research Society of Canada is pleased to announce the G. H. N. Towers Memorial Lecture, to be delivered Saturday night by UBC Alumna Dr. Nancy Turner at the NHP Society’s Second Annual NHP Conference and Trade Show.
Dr. Turner, a renowned ethnobotanist, is one many of the late Dr. Neil Towers’ students who will be presenting at the conference, which runs Friday Feb. 11 through Sunday Feb. 13 at the Sheraton Wall Centre.
“He was the grand professor emeritus of natural health products,” said adjunct Botany professor Allison McCutcheon, herself a Towers student of her mentor, who passed away in November. “Many of the people at the conference will be his students, and students of his students. His presence will be missed.”
The G. H. N. Towers lecture, entitled “The Nature in Natural Health Products,” will be free to conference attendees. A fee of $100 for the lecture and gala dinner is being charged for those who wish to attend this event only.
For more information about the conference, entitled “Integrating Basic and Clinical Research,” visit the NHP Society website NHP Research
