Conservation Without Borders

The Center for Tropical Ecology and Conservation will be holding its 3rd annual symposium titled “Conservation without Borders: The Impact of Conservation on Human Communities” on October 9, 2004 at Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, New Hampshire.
Update: The conference program outline is now available at the conference website.

Call For Abstracts and Posters

The symposium is billed as: “a symposium to breakdown borders between protected areas, human communities, and conservation disciplines by generating dialogue on the effect of conservation beyond park boundaries.” Social and natural scientists, community leaders, resource managers, policy-makers, students, educators and other interested parties are invited to join the event.

The CTEC is currently accepting proposals for speakers and posters addressing personal, anthropological, ecological, and biological perspectives on the impact of conservation on culture, economics, politics and ecological communities. Although the conference will focus on the tropics, we welcome relevant experiences from around the world and diverse disciplines.
