Lord Robert May special seminar
Lord Robert May will be presenting a seminar entitled "The future of biodiversity in a crowded world" on Friday 30th April, 2.30pm IRC 2, Woodward Instructional Research Centre (2194 Health Sci. Mall).
May's current research deals with factors influencing the diversity and abundance of plant and animal species, and with the rates, causes and consequences of extinction. His accomplishments have already been widely recognized in the United Kingdom and abroad. In 1995, he was named the Chief Scientific Advisor to the UK Government and was knighted the following year. In 2000, he was appointed President of the Royal Society a position with a rich tradition and one of the most esteemed in the world of science.
