"Defining 'Biodiversity': Do we know what we are trying to save?"

The Faculty of Forestry is hosting Dr. Bryan Norton as the inaugural speaker for the Namkoong Family Lecture Series on 16 October at 5:45 PM in the Forest Science Centre. You are invited to join.

The title of the talk is “Defining ‘Biodiversity’: Do we know what we are trying to save?” He intends to address two very thorny topics: the definition of biodiversity and its value. If you were not aware that these are thorny topics, it’s even more important that you attend.

Norton is perhaps the world’s ‘guru’ on these topics. He is well known (among biodiversity types) for his books: “The Preservation of Species,” “Why Preserve Natural Variety” and “Searching for Sustainability” although he has published a number of other books.
