May as well start the new year with fireworks...
I've previously written about Hamamelis ×intermedia 'Fireglow', so I'll refer you to that entry today while I continue to enjoy a sliver of time off after madly rushing to submit the John Davidson web site for review by the end of the December. It should be available for public viewing sometime in February, if all goes well.

I discovered BPotD via my first Mac to offer widgets ... it was the first one I downloaded! I've enjoyed it ever since, and was happy to learn more about the site and the man behind it (VS article).

Hi Daniel:
I have hamamelis x intermedia "jelena" (probably don't have that correct) and she is just about to burst forth with those lovely orange "spider" blossoms which are a true winter joy. I'd like to know, however what you were doing posting a plant of the day at 3:06 A.M. (!?) Cheers!!

I too had trouble the first time I tried to look, but this time it worked. Thank goodness!
When I saw the picture begin to open, I was amazed. What looked to be some legged spider turns out to be a bunch of them! Amazing.
I sure did miss the morning greeting though. I did do some browsing though.

Nice to see you back, Daniel. I wondered how long you'd be able to keep yourself away, but after I saw the Vancouver Sun article, I was pretty excited, thinking you'd surely be posting something new. In the meantime, I've been enjoying living in 2006.

Hi Daniel, I was so pleased to read ,'No One-HIt Wonder' in the Sun. You are amazing. Thank you so much for all you do. There are many Western Massachusetts Master Gardeners who have a chance to learn from you. We then can pass things on to the public. Master Gardeners are all volunteers.

I just wanted to let you know that the Botany Photo of the Day would not open on my computer this morning when I received the daily e-mail from you. An error page appeared saying it "could not be found" ,so, I had to come to the UBCBG website to view it. I hope you can easily fix this. The photo is lovely.
