Larix kaempferi 'Blue Dwarf'

From December 16, 2006 to January 14, 2007, Botany Photo of the Day is going to be featuring photo abstracts posted with little or no scientific commentary. If abstracts aren't to your taste, please consider revisiting the site in mid-January. – Daniel

The needles on new tip growth of this larch take a couple extra weeks to colour to orange – catch it at the right time, and you see an odd mixture of blue-green and orange.

I love this one very much. Daniel, are you the photographer from all this abstract serie ? This is all excellent, I really like them. You have a fine sense of colour harmonies and composition.

Thank you Daniel, another lover of abstracts here. This one is wonderful! I also hope you enjoy your vacation. You work hard here, and it shows, every day! Thanks again.
Also wishing you have a very photographically brilliant New Year!

Is there anyway to get a print of this?

Posted by: nicole at December 31, 2006 12:16 PM

Thanks all. Christian, yes, these photographs were made by me (unless it says otherwise!).

Nicole, not yet - but soon, if the director agrees to some proposals I've made.
