Daniel, that photo is gorgeous! I love the soft orange - it's not bright like I usually see in maples, but more like orange sherbet. Must be the fog making it softer? Or is this particular Japanese maple really that color?

Maureen, it's a bit of both - the fog certainly softened all hues last week, but there are at least a few maples with this sort of subtle colour. Have a browse through the maple photo gallery assembled by a number of people on the forums.
