Professional Biography

Marcia Thomson is the Development Officer at the Botanical Garden. She obtained her BA in Economics from Queen’s University and later obtained a M.Sc. in Integrated Land and Food Systems from the University of British Columbia. Marcia believes that fundraising is a wonderful way to offer important support to the academic and community projects which take place at the Botanical Garden.


Personal Notes

My graduate research focused specifically on nutrient management in the Fraser Valley, and more broadly on sustainable food production. I am personally committed to work that promotes more sustainable land and food systems.


Favourite Plant

Marcia’s favorite plant is the flowering quince in her backyard.
