Friends of the Garden

The Friends of the Garden (FOGs) are a group of over 160 volunteers who contribute over 25 000 hours of time every year to the UBC Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research. Their initiative, enthusiasm and drive have helped develop and grow the University of British Columbia Botanical Garden over the past 31 years.

FOG Activities include putting on plant sales and events, harvesting of fruits and vegetables from the food garden, to feed those in need, touring visitors, mounting of herbarium specimens, answering plant and garden questions, studying phenology, photography, collecting seed for sale in the shop, working in the Shop in the Garden and creating wreaths for the holiday wreath sale.
