One of the best places to see and learn about plants is a botanical garden, because botanical gardens have many different kinds of plants growing beside each other - plants for food, plants from around the world, plants that grow in special conditions, plants for medicine and more! Sharing the Garden.

Humans aren't the only creatures who enjoy gardens! All kinds of animals can be found in gardens, from mammals to birds, from reptiles to amphibians, and insects too!

While discovering the plants in the garden, keep a sharp eye out for: bald eagles, rufous-sided towhees, Douglas squirrels, grey squirrels, frogs, garter snakes, coyotes, swallowtail butterflies, spiders and many, many more animals that live in UBC Botanical Garden.
