Smaller gardens of special interest
Behind the Food Garden, the Arbour Garden consists of a wooden trellis that supports a variety of climbing plants. On the other side of the arbour, the Contemporary Garden features new introduction and currently popular plants.
Although the garden can be enjoyed throughout the year, winter is generally a season to appreciate subtlety instead of the colourful splash of blossoms and leaves. The exception to this rule is the Winter Garden, where plants of winter interest flourish, delighting visitors with winter colours and fragrances.
The Perennial Borders Garden, near the Garden Pavilion, is a burst of colour during the summer and autumn. Modern and heritage cultivars of both common and rare plants reveal practical and potential border plants for the home gardener.
