What is this plant called?

I have had this houseplant for a long time but have never known the name. Each flower starts out as a white star then each cornor opens up to reveal the purple flower inside. It does have a very pretty scent to it but the scent does not last long

is there anyway we can see a picture ??.. it is so hard to tell just by the description u gave .. and what kind of leaves does it have ??. is it a upright plant or a hanging plant ??..
