I'm testing out an automated user promotion scheme as a reward for long-time contributors. The mechanics are rather simple: more than 40 posts and registered for more than 30 days promotes you from registered to contributor.
Contributors can do a few extra little things, including giving themselves a custom user title (should be under the My Settings option) and uploading a custom avatar. They will also be the only ones able to start new threads in the
Stumpers forum.
It's a very small way that we can give a little
recognition for those who spend a lot of volunteer time helping others.
Contributors, let me know if there are any problems (e.g., not being able to do things you used to be able to do...)
