Re: Salix acutifolia 'Blue Streak'

No habit photo, but we figured it out today while doing our annual collections inventory.

Re: Salix acutifolia 'Blue Streak'

'Pendulifolia' is sold down here. Mine produces drooping shoots on the edges. 'Blue Streak' is an AGM plant, that I may not have seen listed in North American commerce, that I would like to try. Was the UBC specimen imported by UBC?

Re: Salix acutifolia 'Blue Streak'

Ron, our source for this plant was Hadlow College of Agriculture and Horticulture in Kent, UK.

For those reading, 'Blue Streak' refers to the colour of the branches on the new growth - they are a waxy light blue.

Re: Salix acutifolia 'Blue Streak'

Just as I suspected: sent from England. Maybe it should be propagated and put into B.C. commerce.
