Hi folks. This plant has stumped me so far; can anyone identify it? It's growing in Pucon, Chile but it may or may not be native. Drimys has been suggested but that doesn't look correct to me.

    Thanks!

I'd venture Canella winteriana - the suggestion of Drimys is close, and the leaves definitely place the tree in the Cannellales, but I'll agree that it's not in the Winteraceae - the bark is the wrong colour. This makes it non-native, but since Canella is cultivated all over South America for it's wood, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in Chile.
