Scarlet pimpernel

I assume everyone knows these flowers at least by fame, but being so small they hardly scream for attention. I don't think they are very common in Portugal. The flowers were found on a flowerbed in Penafiel, a small city in northern Portugal, and the photos were shot with a 105 mm macro-lens. They will be featured tomorrow in Dias com Arvores.

Re: Scarlet pimpernel

I had one appear in the back yard one year, and yes, they do not produce a satisfying visual effect.
