The second one looks like Agave harvardiana or at least an Agave sp. from subgenus the Agave.
The first one looks like a new world Dasylirion or Agave sp from subgenus Littaea. I have a vague memory that says I may even be in the wrong family?

The second is Agave desmetiana 'Variegata'.

If those things are both classified in Agave , I'd say it is high time the genus was reviewed and split into two or more separate genera!
