I have recently purchased and potted this plant. The leaves have been dropping with some browning on them. I need to identify the plant so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong!

I have not watered in 2 weeks and it continues to drop. I potted with good drainage. It's gets nice sunlight. Will the leaves come back in time? Thanks for the help.
I'm not an expert on this plant, sorry. I only have a little one. Leaves only have a limited life span, so it is reasonable to assume that some leaf drop is normal. What I do know is that these plants have "compound leaves". So, there are seven "leaflets" to each leaf and the whole leaf includes what you may be thinking of as branches. My plant is foever growing upward and putting out new leaves there. I have no idea how to make it branch out or backbud.
I think you have to remove new growing tips for it to branch out. I have one that is fairly tall and not dropping leaves. It is kept in semi shade and I water it once every couple of weeks in the winter.
It could be disease? Did you look close at the leaves to see if there are little webs or discolorations?
Put some water in a spray bottle and add a bit of dish lotion. Shake it up and spray the plant - the underside of the leaves as well. This does a job on mites.
