Princess Flower

I received a Princess Flower for my birthday in May, and have lost the instructions that went with it. I remembered that is said to bring it inside around October. I did so, brought it into my living room, it is losing all its leaves and not looking very well. Someone told me to cut it right back, stick it in a dark room, keep it moist and bring it out in spring.... Is this correct, or what do you recommend?

Please help me, it is a beautiful plant when in bloom, and I don't want to lose it.
Thank you for any help....
Lynda

Re: Princess Flower

I suggest cutting it back a bit, by aout 1/3 of the stems and keeping it in the sun and leting it grow for the winter, keeping it pruned to the shape you would like it to be. keep it well watered and only fertilize about once a month. this way it will be less stressed and you will have a beautiful plant for you garden next year.
