Unknown plant, please identify. Cactus/Succulent?

We've had this plant gowing indoors for around 20yrs, until now it has never flowered. It now has two long conical flowers budding, and as of yet we know nothing about what family or genera it stems from. Furthermore we have no idea what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Mardie

Epiphyllum oxypetalum is a true cactus, Cactaceae family.

Many questions about this apparently very common houseplant. Try searching forums.

'Tropica' by Alfred Byrd Graf lists the oxypetalum (Queen of the Night) as the best nightblooming cactus for the home. Living where I do, it is not unusual for my two outdoor plants to give as many 15 blooms on the same night.
