Orbea Variegata bloom
Pics of my recent blooming orbea variegata.....If you put your nose to the bloom, it will smell like rotting meat....lovely to look at though...

Maybe my nose already smells like rotting meat. Not sure it's lovely to look at, though. Anyway, this plant must have been moved out of Stapelia .

The comparatively large flower popping out of the modest clump of stems is fun as well. Appears to mimic a wound or carcass, as do many aroids such as Dracunculus vulgaris and Amorphophallus titanum .

Yes i think its so neat too and being that it was just a cutting when i received it this spring, its even more special....Stapelias are such interesting succulents....its very cool how nature works....
