Jasmine Tree
Hi
I have a Jasmine Tree which is doing amazingly well, I noticed a few days ago that there is what appears to be a red "seed pod" not really sure why but I'd like to know what it is exactly on my tree.
Also, I love Jasmine tea what is it made from, surely not the leaves of my Jasmine tree?
thanks,
suzie06

Re: Jasmine Tree
Judging by the presence of the red seed pod your tree is likely to be Murraya paniculata, Orange Jessamine. Have a look at this thread. I believe jasmine tea is made from the flowers of Jasminum sambac, Arabian Jasmine.

In my area it is commonly found where ever indoor plants are sold, including supermarkets. Home Depot usually has an abundant supply. Then there are online retailers if one cannot be found locally.

Re: Jasmine Tree
I think jasmine tea is usually ordinary black tea with Jasminum sambac flowers added for flavour. I suppose the blossoms could be added to other infusions if one doesn't like black tea.
