heptacodium miconioides flowers are white and begin in august thru october ...this picture is taken in october ...these are the calyces (sepals) which if mild persist into november in zone 6-7 .

second photo is davidia involucrata ....its taken awhile and they are still young and in the greenhouse but the flowers worth showing....
