Need suggestions for ground cover on a steep hill

I have a problem hillside in backyard. It is 45 by 45 and very steep. Probably between 35 and 45 degree angle. I want a ground cover that is suited for my area. Not real invasive, but has good erosion control qualities. I have thought of crown vetch, and English Ivy but both are invasive.
I can get English Ivy from cuttings. Is it possible to regenerate plants from cuttings? Aslo any ideasof a good ground cover that would fit these qualifications would be a great help. I live in Ohio.

The following plants have strong, dense root systems that will help prevent soil erosion:
Shrubs: Juniperus, Rosa multiflora, Rosa rugosa, Santolina
Vines: Euonymus fortunei (prostrate forms), Lonicera japonica (perhaps not fully hardy in your area), Parthenocissus quinquefolia
Perennials: Coronilla varia, Polygonum cuspidatum compactum

Another shrub to consider is either Diervilla lonicera or D. sessilifolia. They are not generally readily available at local nurseries, But if you live near Dayton Ohio, I could provide you with all the cuttings you could want. They root rather easily. I don't recall your conditions other than a steep slope - this plant does well in about any location - wet/dry, sun/shade. And it gradually spreads by suckering, but is not what I would call invasive
