I recently got given this indoor tree by a friend before they moved abroad and I havent got a clue what it is or how to look after it, I would greatly appreciate any information about it.

Hi Kamy,

There are lots of posts on the forums about jade plants, try using the Search function (on the green bar at the top of the page) to find them. Search for both "jade plant" and Crassula ovata. The posts offer a lot of info and will link you to other webpages as well.

That looks to be several years old. It is critical that it not be overwatered.

Re: Identifying My Indoor Tree

It should only be watered once or twice over the winter, monthly in the fall, and maybe every 10 days or so in spring and summer - but make sure water reaches the drain holes. They need tons of sun all day but are definitely tropical, so keep it inside with the most light you can dig up.
