I have had this plant for 20 years. It's leaves are really stiff, with a vein you can see. It put out 3 fowers 6" long that got limp and never opened. they drooped. They were white and would have been about 9-10" round......There is a spider plant planted in the same pot with her.
Does anyone know what this is? It's absolutely striking!

My plants absolutely love it.. I have a Bengal clock vine that is just taking off, hopefully it'll take over the beam... My passion vine is flowering. I designed this house for my plants and the acoustics........

I keep the passion vine in an 18"x18" clay pot, along with an impatience and I put it out on the east side deck in the summer. and she comes in for the fall winter and spring as it is zone 9, It gets good morning sun in my living room. It likes it's water and I feed it Miracle Gro 15-30-15 and it seems to do well. It will produce many flowers when it's outside on the deck...... I hope that answered your question. Climbing hydrangea is taking awhile to form suckers. I'm trying to climb it on the side of my house, fireplace.

Thank You. Gardening indoors keeps me sane over the long winter. I don't feel so cooped up with my plants around...
I am in zone 5. so I don't see why it wouldn't grow in zone 7.
Are the sweetpea's easy to grow? My hydrangea and clemitis are all looking good. I've also planted wisteria and it's coming along nicely.. That will arch my entranceway to the porch. Will send pics when it's in bloom, if it does bloom this year.
This is the first time I'm growing sweetpea.
I started the seeds indoor, and transplanted them when the vine had at least 3 sets of leaves. At present, they're doing quite well in a sunny, semi-sheltered location.
When they get 1ft longer then I think I won't worry about them as much.
The weather in Vancouver can be unpredictable. We've had 5 warm days, then it's been nothing but rain for the last 4 days. Morning frost was present 11/2 wk ago, hopefully that's over (cross fingers).
As far as I know, sweetpeas are very easy to care for and give a nice fragrance.
Clematis is climbling on porch fence and arbor very well. Will post pics soon.
I'm growing 3 varieties, one is an evergreen.
I want to grow wisteria around my garage, but I think I'll need a strong structure around garage to do that. What do you think I should use?
My neighbour used steel rods around his garage to support his wisteria.
I think they're one of the most beautiful climbers.

Might have to reconsider that idea since my yard is already filled with so many plants that are not its full height. I started my garden almost 3yrs ago when I moved into my house. Torn up the front and back garden. Started from scratch.
That's an awesome wisteria. I eventually will build a rustic wood trelis for my wisteria but for now it's kinda draped on hooks and around the posts. but will build permanent structure soon as I can.
