Hey! I found this flower on the beach near Winter Harbour (Outer coast on Northern Vancouver Island). I haven't had much luck identifying it (I'm new at this) - anyone want to give me a prod in the right direction?

    Thanks!

Broke out the wide angle lens, eh?

It's definitely a member of the crucifer family, or Brassicaceae. I might have a chance to check the ID books tomorrow if someone doesn't post in the meantime.

A couple of us here at the garden are in tentative agreement that it is wild radish, or Raphanus sativus.

I wouldn't have guessed! Thanks for the ID!

I've found wide angle lenses are helpful for "ID" shots because you can get the flowers, leaves and shape of the plant in one shot. "Art" shorts generally use longer lenses but I've found too many times that just having a shallow depth of field picture of a flower makes ID really hard.

    Thanks again!
