Unknown houseplant

In my office we have a plant that we aren't sure how to care for since we don't know what it is. It is a yellowy spring green with long straggly branches (not sure if this is how it should look or if we are causing it) with scattered round leaves (about an inch to an inch and a half apart) that appear to be thicker than an average plant and not as thick as a jade plant. It only receives artificial like since we have no windows. It likes to be kept fairly moist but not standing water. Someone in the office thought that it should have tiny white flowers. The branches grow out from a central stem and down and then go straight upward.

Welcome cattails. It would really help if you could add a pic to this thread.

Re: Unknown houseplant

Given the description and the location and the apparent neglect, I'd suggest you look at Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. When it's been neglected, it will get smaller rounder leaves, and can droop then grow straight up.

A picture is worth any amount of words from us, though.

Both of these threads show the sort of kalanchoe habit that I think you are describing.
