English Ivy

Hi, I love house plants that filter the air because of my allergys.I want to get an English Ivy(Helia Hendrex) but I saw that it could be dangerous to cats.I have a very troublesome cat.He is an indoor cat,so he loves to munch on my plants.I like English Ivy because it is easy to grow, and im begining to think i have a black thumb.I have tryed the cat grass, and he wont eat it.Can anyone think of a way from keeping my cat away from the ivy plant?

Re: English Ivy

Try smearing a thin coating of mustard oil on some the most accessible leaves. If your cat isn't put off by the smell, he certainly will be once he has a taste. It worked for my cat without doing damage to either the cat or the plant.
