Gallery walls are the conventional way to display art, but this summer UBC Botanical Garden will be the backdrop for an exciting exhibition. Art In The Garden takes place August 8 and 9, 2009 from 10 am to 5 pm both days, in the heart of the UBC Botanical Garden with an exhibition of works by 20 British Columbian artists. You’ll see all types of artworks from garden fountains to bird feeders, jewellery to ceramics, works in glass to works in metal, large and small sculptures, and a variety of photography and painting styles.
Come meet the artists and soak in their work. Garden and nature lovers are encouraged to enjoy the synergy between the botanical garden and the art. Relax with refreshments on the Garden Pavilion deck overlooking the food garden and nearby art, or stroll the Asian Garden and contemplate nature’s own creativity.
Special gate fee in effect that allows re-entry throughout the weekend and includes raffle of prizes by artists.
