Hardy Cyclamen (Lecture)
Tuesday, January 30, 2007
12pm to 1pm
Lecture Details Wilhelm Bischoff will provide a unique lecture on the species differences, plant structures, planting media and culture of hardy Cyclamen. He will bring a number of live specimens, with some in bloom, for demonstrations and to facilitate questions and discussions. Time permitting, he will also provide a slide show of hardy Cyclamen images. Wilhelm and his wife Carla are members of the Vancouver Orchid Society and the Cyclamen Society of England. They were initially introduced to cyclamens via a co-worker and the Alpine Garden Society in Vancouver. This introduction facilitated their impressive collection that has grown throughout the years. Of the 22 available species, Wilhelm and Carla successfully grow and bloom 18 in their beautiful garden, and continue to obtain others as they become available.
