Gardening or Plant Questions

UBC Botanical Garden offers two ways of asking gardening or plant-related questions:

Hortline - Call 604-822-5858 on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 pm to 3 pm to speak with a garden volunteer or student who will help answer your question.
Online Discussion Forums - Ask your question online (and learn from others!) by visiting our web-based plant and gardening community..

Please do not send gardening or plant questions via email. Use the forums and benefit from the knowledge of a community of thousands.

UBC Botanical Garden and Community News

Boootiful Botany Haunted Hallowe'en Event 2009 Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Features a self-guided trick-or-treat scavenger hunt, crafts, games and an exhibit by the Beaty Biodiversity Museum.

Apple Festival 2009! The 19th annual Apple Festival, hosted by the Friends of the Garden, is being held on October 17th and 18th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. A $2.00 admission fee for adults helps support new garden initiatives -- for those under 12, admission is free.

Apple Festival by Transit (2009) Travelling to the Apple Festival by transit? Take Translink's C20 shuttle route from the diesel bus loop after arriving at the UBC campus.

Apple Festival Parking (2009) Planning on driving to UBC for the Apple Festival? Parking is available in the West Parkade. A complimentary shuttle service will be available to transport you between the garden and the parkade.

Community Shuttle to UBC Botanical Garden Don't want to walk across campus to visit the garden? Take the C20 community shuttle!

32nd Annual Indoor Plant Sale (2009) The Friends of the Garden host the 32nd Annual Indoor Plant Sale at UBC from 11 am to 5 pm on September 17th and 18th. Plants available at student-friendly prices!
