Apple Festival by Transit (2004)

Travelling to the Applefest by transit? Free shuttles from the UBC bus loop to the garden run from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The shuttles leave the bus loop every fifteen minutes.

Apple Festival Parking (2004)

Planning on driving to UBC for the Apple Festival?

Parking is available in the West Parkade, which is located on Lower Mall (UBC Parking Rates - see weekend rates at parkades). Use Gates 6 or 7 to access. Campus Map (PDF)

Signage will be posted giving directions to the parkade. Three free trolleys will ferry people between the Botanical Garden and the parkade all day Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The trolleys are disabled equipped for those who require an extra helping hand.

27th Annual Indoor Plant Sale (2004)

Join UBC Botanical Garden for its Indoor Plant Sale on September 16 and 17. Always a popular event with plant enthusiasts and students, the sale is a great way to decorate a dorm room on a budget. Plants will be sold from 11am to 6pm at the reception centre near the entrance of the garden.

Art in the Garden (2004)

Artists are invited to use the garden for inspiration on June 27 from 10am to 3pm. The Garden Pavilion will be available as workspace, meeting place and refreshment area. Artists can use either the pavilion or the gardens to work.

Due to construction of a new residential project in the former parking lot across Marine Drive from the Botanical Garden, visitors should park in the West Mall parkade, entered from Gate 7 on Marine Drive. The cost of parking is $3.50; a free shuttle bus will be provided to and from the garden.

Perennial Plant Sale (2004)

The 14th Annual Perennial Plant Sale takes place on May 9th from 10am to 3pm at the Botanical Garden. UBC's largest plant sale features hundreds of proven perennials, as well as small shrubs, grasses, and a limited quantity of unusual plants.

Gardening experts will be on hand, and a children's corner is available.

Collectors' Plant Auction (2004)

The UBC Friends of the Garden are hosting a gala evening and plant auction on April 21, 2004 at 6:30pm in the Roundhouse Community Centre (False Creek, Vancouver).

Only 300 tickets are available at $125 each (partial tax rebates will be issued). Attendees will have the opportunity to acquire rare and specimen plants while enjoying a host bar, delectable fare and good humour.

Pacific Northwest Native Plant Sale (2004)

Native plants are ideally suited for Pacific Northwest gardens. Find a wide selection, direct from nurseries, at this year's Native Plant Sale on April 17 from 11am to 3pm at the garden.

Over 250 species native to the coastal northwest will be available. Native plant experts are on site, giving gardening advice and garden tours. Visit one of the many demonstration booths by local native plant and ecological organizations.
