Haunted Halloween at UBC Botanical Garden (2006)

Category(-ies): 2006 Archives

The UBC Botanical Garden is holding an exciting, free Haunted Halloween Day for children and their parents on October 29/06 from 1-4pm. Please contact Nadine Diner at (604) 690-5375 or nadine.diner@ubc.ca to register parents and children for this event. Sorry, this event is full! 175 children and their parents is the maximum we can host for this event. Check the web site frequently for children's events occurring in the near future!

The event will begin at 1pm with a spooky scavenger hunt where parents and children can work together using clues to find the locations of 10 unique Halloween themed Garden stations. At each station, volunteers will teach the children some unique facts and Halloween stories regarding the plants at that stop, and the children will receive a stamp to signify their completion of each stop.

Following the scavenger hunt, parents and children can sit down and enjoy a fun Halloween story provided by our Botanical Garden story teller, and then proceed to the craft and game room for a series of fun activities and prizes, plus a cash-only carnivorous plant sale sponsored by Hawaiian Botanicals & Water Gardens in Richmond BC.

Please help us distribute the poster for this event (or print it as a reminder!): Haunted Halloween at UBC Botanical Garden (PDF).
