Engaging the Public in Conservation

A colloquium to discuss ways to educate the public on conservation issues is being planned for April 12th and 14th at VanDusen and April 13th at UBC. Beth Brierley, Education Director for VanDusen Botanical Garden Association writes, “The focus of the conference will be on sharing ideas/good practice, grass-root implementation and development of new and innovative education programs.”

Index Seminum 2005

The UBC Botanical Garden Index Seminum, or Seed List, is published biennially. The seeds were collected in 2005 and are offered for exchange with other botanical gardens, arboreta and other scientific institutions.
Progeny raised from these seeds may not be used to generate commercial profit unless benefits are equitably shared with the countries of wild origin, under the terms and spirit of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
