Apple Festival Thank You (2003)

This past weekend's Apple Festival was the most successful UBC Botanical Garden event to date, with just shy of 13 000 visitors to the garden participating in the festivities. Almost everything was sold out by the end of the festival, which could not have been predicted on Thursday or Friday, considering the heavy rainfall.

On behalf of the researchers and staff at UBC Botanical Garden, I'd like to express our gratitude.

Interpretative Signs

Seven new signs have been placed in the garden. The written text for each is available on the web site on the interpretative sign page.

In addition, all sign web pages have been converted to the new design, with accompanying images where available.

On Monday, October 20, Dr. Jeannette Whitton of the UBC Department of Botany will be giving a free seminar in the UBC Botanical Garden Reception Centre entitled "Too much and not enough: the consequences of hybridization and asexual reproduction in Crepis and Townsendia". The seminar begins at noon.
