Christmas Tree Chipper Event (2007-2008)

Be sustainable - Chip-In!

After the holidays, drop off your undecorated Christmas tree at UBC Botanical Garden to be recycled into mulch for the Garden.

Date: Thursday December 27, 2007 to Sunday January 6, 2008

Time: 8:00am to 5:00pm daily

Location: UBC Botanical Garden parking lot, at 6804 South West Marine Dr.

Event Description: Drop off your clean, undecorated Christmas tree at the UBC Botanical Garden parking lot (follow on-site signs to drop off location), and your tree will be chipped into mulch for Garden paths instead of filling local landfills with this re-useable resource. Please remove all decorations, stands, bags and ropes. No yard trimmings, just Christmas trees. All dates and times are self-serve drop off with the exception of Saturday January 5, 2008 from 12:00pm to 2pm, when staff members will be available to assist.

Your help is mulch appreciated!

Please Note: Donations for the Education and Outreach Program are greatly appreciated. UBC Land & Building Services, UBC Plant Operations, UBC Campus Security and UBC Botanical Garden & Centre for Plant Research proudly sponsor this event. For information please call (604) 690-5375.
